Agriculture takes a heavy beating in the public sphere, with little thought for the fact that it sustains people.  The San Joaquin Valley is a unique resource for the US, the most productive and diverse agricultural region in the world. Over 400 different crops are grown here, plus dairy and livestock.  Thank a farmer for what is on your plate.

Amen, brother.

Do you think indoor farming is going to be a game-changer in the mid- to long-term? With LED lighting so cheap to power, it seems like it’s becoming more feasible. Hydroponic systems, growing produce above and raising fish above (with their poop as fertilizer), growing 24 hours a day for impressive yields. Interesting to think how this change, along with a shift toward plant-based meat substitutes might change land use in the future.

No worries, plenty of water in addition to the milk. I stay pretty cleaned out. Milk is just my primary “snack”

I think there should be a new campaign like “got milk” but “got oranges” “got broccoli ” “got pork” “got lettuce” “got strawberries” etc....
